Some of the largest real estate developers in Ontario are lobbying Doug Ford to increase funding to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT), a quasi-judicial body that tends to favour developers and includes many Ford donors.
The OLT is tasked with making “impartial” decisions about disputes like which apartment buildings can be demolished and redeveloped, how many floors a building can have or what land should be environmentally protected.
